PUCL organised an online discussion about the Supreme Court judgement which denied bail to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam on 18^th January, 2026. PUCL also released a position paper about the dangerous implications of the judgement on undertrial prisoners who have been charged under anti-terror laws. The discussion was moderated by Arvind Narrain (National Secretary, PUCL) and the speakers were Nadeem Khan (General Secretary, APCR), Talib Mustafa (Advocate, Supreme Court), Indira Jaising (Senior Advocate), Mihir Desai (National Vice President, PUCL) and Lara Jesani (National Secretary, PUCL).
