The Hawa mahal constituency MLA, Sanjay Sharma, so-called Swami Balmukund Acharya are continuously disrupting communal harmony in Jaipur- PUCL
Jaipur: The Hawamahal MLA and self-proclaimed godman, Swami Balmukund Acharya are consistently attempting to spread hatred and division in society. Just two days ago, he unlawfully raided e-mitra operators, falsely accusing them of creating fake documents and causing a scene. He illegally conducted searches and seizures in front of the police, who stood as mere bystanders. The police then detained e-mitra operators, filing false cases against them, while the real charges of trespassing and seizing private property should have been against MLA Balmukund Acharya.
Since winning the Hawamahal seat by just 900 votes, Balmukund Acharya has targeted the Muslim community, engaging in acts that foster animosity. This has led to frequent incidents of assaults and humiliation of poor Muslims in Jaipur.
Now, he plans to hold a Hindu Rashtra rally on September 29, which, according to media reports, will pass through Muslim-majority areas and follow the route of the Ram Navami rally. Clearly, this rally is intended to incite hatred and division, featuring various inflammatory slogans and speeches.
We are appalled that the Rajasthan police has granted permission for this rally, which is expected to draw 5,000 to 6,000 participants. The only purpose of this rally is to propagate hatred and communalism, posing a serious threat of increasing communal tension and law-and-order issues. We ask the Rajasthan government and police: can they truly control the slogans and aggressive behavior of 5,000 to 6,000 people? Is this rally not aimed at humiliating and provoking the minority community?
PUCL Rajasthan has written to the police commissioner demanding that this rally not be permitted, and if it has been approved, that it be revoked to prevent disturbances to societal harmony.
Additionally, we demand that if this rally takes place and law and order deteriorates, those officials who permitted the rally and police officers on duty should be held accountable and cases be filed against them
